Afghanistan: A virtual visit

We are very happy to invite you to our virtual visit to Afghanistan. We will focus on local perspectives on the US-Taliban Deal and on women's rights movements in the country, but to also draw attention to other topics that are currently shaping the realities of life in the region. Whilst the country used to be in the focus of global media attention after 9/11, in recent years it has become rather quiet around this topic in (German) reporting. By now, even major changes such as presidential elections, terrorist attacks with high numbers of victims, migration movements or news concerning NATO are only mentioned in passing.

We will talk to women's rights activists, a legal scholar and will show on-site pictures and video sequences in order to provide as many impressions of the local realities as possible.
